Alice Marie Stoltze

Mrs. Marie Darby Stoltze, 76, a resident of Troy, Alabama and formerly of Goshen, passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Friday, June 24th, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, July 16th, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Stoltze was a proud graduate of Goshen High School and later attended Troy State University where she earned bachelor degrees in both Education and Social Work. Following her graduation, she went to work for the State of Alabama. She was a dedicated social worker for over 25 years until her retirement. In her free time, she was an avid reader and there were few things she enjoyed more than spending quality time with her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who knew just how precious her time with her loved ones was and cherished every moment of it.

Mrs. Stoltze was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Lowery & Mary Alice Hughes Darby; her brother, James "Jim" Darby; and special friend, Tony Johnson. She is survived by her son, Bill Stoltze; beloved granddaughter, Mary Stoltze; brother, Les (Martha) Kinney; several nieces & nephews; and the dear children and grandchildren of her longtime companion, Tony.
