Amos Joel Sipper

Honoraville

Amos Joel Sipper, 83, a lifelong resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home after a long battle with Dementia, on December 24, 2021, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Monday, December 27th, at the Highland Home branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with President William Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in the Sipper Family Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Sipper was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He joined the church in 2009, and he was an active member in the church community as he attended with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He worked 30 years at Boss Manufacturing Company, and later retired after working 12 years at Kimball’s Furniture Factory. After retirement, Mr. Sipper spent his days taking care of his farm, spending time with his family, and riding the four-wheeler with his beloved dogs. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and dear friends, Terry and Wilonese Lowe. All of his kids and grandkids would say, “Datdo was the kindest, toughest, hardest working man they’d ever known.” He was a role model to all of his family, and will be dearly missed by his friends and loved ones.

Mr. Sipper was preceded in death by his parents, John William & Susan Merle Stringer Sipper, and brother. James Windham Sipper. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Sipper; their children, Cindy (Travis) White, Charlotte (Jim) Ballard, and Davey (Ouida) Sipper; grandchildren, Chris (Joni) White, Shaun (Robin) Wilkes, Scott (Meagan) White, Danny (Kelly) White, Sabrina (Jesse) Dempsey, Amber (Cyle) Petty, Abbi Sipper, Ava Sipper, Punki Ballard, Jimmy Ballard, and Jonathon Ballard; twenty-one great-grandchildren; brother Phillip (JoAnn) Sipper; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Active pallbearers will be Chris White, Shaun Wilkes, Scott White, Danny White, Steven Sipper, Timothy Sipper. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Sipper, Davey Sipper, and Cyle Petty.

The family will receive friends at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 9 - 10 AM.
