Mrs. Ann Hall Swanner, 72, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, in her home while surrounded by her family. A graveside service for Mrs. Swanner will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 14th, in Faith Hill Cemetery with Rev. Malcolm Butts & Rev. Hugh Sikes officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Swanner earned her bachelor's degree from Troy State University before completing her master's with Auburn University Montgomery. She dedicated her life to education as she worked as a kindergarten teacher for 30 years before her retirement. She always had such a deep love for her students, regardless of how long it had been since they were in her classroom. She was also a proud member of the Beta Mu Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. In her free time, she enjoyed exploring her more creative side with both sewing and painting beautiful landscapes. Above all, she was a beloved wife, mother, "Nana," sister, and friend. Like many teachers, she touched and guided hundreds of lives over the years, and so her legacy will live on through both her family and her cherished students.
Mrs. Swanner was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edward Sr & Virgie Compton Hall, and siblings, Dorothy "Dot" Vaughn, Thomas Edward "T.E." Hall Jr, and James Quitman "Quit" Hall. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Richard Wallace Swanner; their children, Shaun (Tonya) Swanner, Ashlee (Terri) Swanner, Adam (April) Swanner, and Tiffani Swanner; grandchildren, Isabelle, Wyatt, Daulton, Collin, Talis, Greyden, and Lex Swanner; siblings, Frances Jayroe, Glenda Watson, and Windham "Wimp" Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her caregivers from Comfort Care Hospice: Elizabeth, Tonya, and Lindsey.
Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at the service time.
