Barbara Tomlin Arsenault, 87, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 19th, 2025. Funeral services for Miss Barbara will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 22nd, at Rock Hill Church of Christ with Brother Danny Rolling officiating. She will then be laid to rest in the church cemetery there with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Barbara had the magnetic personality of any Old Hollywood movie star...which is appropriate given many people affectionately called her "Movie Star"! Her claim to fame included modeling for the Governor's House and appearing in the major motion picture, Big Fish. Her stories from her time on set with stars like Ewan MacGregor and Danny DeVito allowed her to entertain people for hours. It's no surprise even the stars enjoyed their time with Barbara because she was so very outgoing and never failed to speak her mind no matter who you were! She held many jobs during her life, but she was blessed with the soul of a true artist. Whether it was her love of painting or her gift for interior design, there were few things Barbara loved more than expressing her creative drive. She was also a devoted Christian woman who loved her Lord with all of her heart and truly represented who Christ wanted His followers to be.
Barbara was the loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of a phenomenally lively & boisterous crew and she was adored by the little ones who called her "Granny" (or G.G. when it came to the great-grands). They learned her love of the beauty of nature from long walks where they could admire all of the gorgeous flowers to fishing in surrounding streams and ponds. They also learned how important it was to love their fellow man because she was one of the most kind, caring, and generous souls on this planet. She never failed to reach out and help anyone she knew was in need even it it was just to offer a sympathetic ear and shoulder to lean upon. Barbara was truly a bright, shining light in this far too often cold, cruel world, but she leaves behind a remarkable legacy of laughter and Christian love to be remembered by. All of us should be so fortunate to leave such a mark on this world.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Arsenault; son, Jackie Wolfe; granddaughter, Miranda Wolfe; parents, Joe Frank & Levie Leila Beasley Tomlin; siblings, James Tomlin, Charles Tomlin, Tommy Tomlin, Maurice Tomlin, Nelda Catrette, Bernice Beall, and Paul Tomlin.

Wolfe, Jacquelyn Wolfe, and Tony Wolfe; grandchildren, Kamelia (Sam) Bowlan, Mitchell Holley, Levi Tansey, Brittany Wolfe, Todd Wolfe, Hunter Miller, Anna Marie (Mark) Sanders, Courtney Wolfe, Ryne Wolfe, Josh Messick, Blake Messick, and Kathryn Wolfe; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha (Ronnie) Thomas, Nancy Moorer, Sally Tindell, Patricia Gafford, Robert (Kim) Tomlin, and Lanore (Bubba) Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
