Barbara Jane Williamson

Barbara Jane Williamson, 68, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. A graveside service for Barbara will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 28th, in Spears Cemetery with Rev. Greg Sanders officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Barbara was truly a kind, sweet soul who loved openly and with her whole heart. She was never one to judge others or make demands, she simply accepted you as you were and even loved you because of it (rather than in spite of it)! She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as her beloved church family at Fleetwood Baptist Church. In her free time, Barbara was an avid reader, especially of classical literature. She knew the value in being able to explore so many periods of history and the world right from the comfort of her own living room through books. She also enjoyed exploring her more creative talents through drawing, particularly adorable animals like mischievous cats and devoted dogs. She was a bright light in this dark world and the world is lesser for her loss.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George Elkin & Evie Johnson Williamson, and brother, Delmar Williamson. She is survived by her loving brother, Dexter Williamson, and a host of cherished cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Curtis Slawson, Darrel Mount, Michael Hughes, Trent Thomas, Ethan Mount, and Dane Floyd.
