PYNES, Mr. Benjamin “Benjie” Frank , 66, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Mr. Pynes proudly served in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy for 27 years. He earned his Master’s degree from Troy State University, and, after retiring from the Navy, he became the first director of the E-911 system in Crenshaw County. Mr. Pynes was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Frank and Doris Compton Pynes; sister, Patsy Pynes; and his beloved feline companion, Runt. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan Wells Pynes; their two children, Mark Pynes and Malissa Pynes; his sister, Susan Pynes (Charles) Tompkins; mother-in-law, Erva Ree (Claude) Nall; sister-in-law, Diane Childs; and several nieces and nephews.
