Bennie Merle Rayborn

RAYBORN, Mrs. Merle Morgan, 97, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 11, 2016, in Brantley Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Hatcher, Sr. officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Rayborn was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. “Doc” Rayborn, daughter-in-law, Gloria Tompkins Rayborn, her parents, Walter A. and Audie Sasser Morgan, two sisters, Shuna Morgan and Minnie Rae Taylor, and her brother, Stafford Morgan. She is survived by two children, Sandra Rayborn (Sam) Carnes and Billy Rayborn, four grandchildren, Tammie Carnes, Sandy (Frank) Putz, Samantha (Scott) King, and Bill (Beth) Rayborn, three great-grandchildren, Beth Ann Tompkins, Zachery and Isabelle King, and two great-great-grandchildren, Natalee and Samatha Lanthirp, and two sisters, Frances Brooks and Mary Adams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brantley Baptist Church or the Brantley Cemetery Fund. Family and friends will meet in the cemetery at the service time.
