ELLISON, Mrs. Bessie Lou Mitchell, age 96, a resident of Prattville, AL died Monday, April 9, 2013. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 12, 2013 in Rutledge Cemetery with Rev. Charles Sims officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Ellison is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Horace Ellison; her parents, William & Velma W. Mitchell; four sisters, Nora Beall, Lois Cauthen, Ina Hughes, and Margaret Archie; three brothers, Rufus, Frank, and Bruce Mitchell; and three nephews, Warren Cauthen, Kenneth Ballard, and Tommy Hughes. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor M. Dixon; two nieces, Wanza Lewis and Virginia Martinelli; and eight nephews, William Beall, Royce Ballard, Maurice Ballard, Wiley Cauthen, Ronnie Hughes, Don Hughes, Johnny Hughes, and Tom Ellison. Serving as pallbearers will be Great nephews. The family will receive friends at Turner Funeral Home on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prattmont Baptist, 814 Smith Ave., Prattville, Al., 36067.
