Mrs. Betty Whatley Kelley, 84, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away suddenly at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. A graveside service for Mrs. Kelley will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 23rd, in Rocky Mount Cemetery with Rev. Bo Weed officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Kelley was a vibrant part of her community for many years. She first started with her own greenhouse, raising flowers for sale. She later took over as the owner and operator of Kelley’s Grocery. Her generosity could be seen through her participation with the Salvation Army for numerous years. Ultimately, she was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Kelley; two sons, Charles Kelley and Donny Kelley; parents, Charlie & Eunice Searcy Whatley; and two siblings, Mary Grace Tharpe and Searcy Whatley. She is survived by two siblings, Charles Whatley and Martha Ruth Kelley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Bubba Stubbs, Austin Hebert, Bobby Beasley, John Vitallo, and Harvey Askew.
