Mrs. Betty Cato Owen, 76, a resident of Cullman, Alabama and formerly of Highland Home, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, November 27th, 2021. Funeral services for Mrs. Owen will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 3rd, at Davenport Church of Christ with Brother Jack Cates officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Betty was a wonderful wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As a homemaker, she, along with her husband Foy, raised seven children, and she shared her love of cooking, gardening, puzzles, pets, and the outdoors with her kids and grandkids. She is remembered fondly for her delicious meals, funny stories, and for always being the life of the party. While she was a great cook, she also loved to go out to eat, and she and her husband were regulars at the local restaurant "It Don't Matter." Betty was well-known for her love of family, but she is most admired for her love of the Lord. She tirelessly served the church for many years and has now gone on to receive her reward in Heaven. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her parents, Morris & Lottie Mae Cato. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Foy Owen; their children, Leshia (Rich) Limbach, Mike (Claudia) Owen, Cindee (Stuart) Weddington, John (Sherry) Owen, Paul (Tami) Owen, David (Ashley) Owen, and Jason (Celia) Owen; grandchildren, Sarah, Jon, Lindsay, Rachel, Katie, Anna, Leah, Cara, Hannah, Mark, Jacob, Caleb, Abigail, Ella, Eden, and Jaden; and great-grandchildren, Uriel, Emma, Brody, Holden, Luna, and Oliver.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1 - 2 PM.
