Mrs. Betty Sue Williams Peterson, 86, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Orchard Rehabilitation & Healthcare on Friday, December 16th, 2022. Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 21st, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Stae Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 AM.
Betty was a phenomenally talented artist. There was hardly anything she couldn't draw or paint. Not only that, but she was also a gifted poet, giving her many different outlets to express herself. In fact, she was so skilled that she had even been offered a full scholarship to an art program after high school. Professionally speaking, she spent many years as a telephone operator for AT&T. After her retirement, she put her fashion skills to good use as she worked in the children's department for several retail establishments. Betty was a spirited woman who never failed to speak her mind and live her life under her own terms. She will be sorely missed by the loved ones she leaves behind, but they know she is in a far better place now.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Williams & Jodie Alford; grandmother, Mary Ina Rogers; and sister, Dannie Parris. She is survived by her children, Lesley Baggett, Lindsey Baggett, and David Baggett; eight grandchildren; sister, Ima Carol Williams Wood.
