Betty Langford Tisdale

Mrs. Betty Langford Tisdale, 84, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Funeral services for Mrs. Tisdale will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 4, at Brantley Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Johnson and Rev. Wesley Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Brantley Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Tisdale spent many years of her life working as a teller at Brantley Bank and Trust, so she knew everyone in and around Brantley. She was well-known for her happy demeanor and love of life. Everyone who knew her especially loved her sweet smile. More than anything though, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family with everything she had. They will sorely miss her.

Mrs. Tisdale was preceded in death by her husband, Gene L. “Sonny” Tisdale; parents, Marvin James & Lena Stephenson Langford; and brother, Edward Langford. She is survived by her three loving children, Teresa (Joe) Wares, David (Connie) Tisdale, and Jimmy (Susan) Tisdale; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Jaymie) Tisdale, Maggie Tisdale, Sarah (Hunter) Friday, Charlie Tisdale, Tyler Wares, and Molly Wares; great-grandson, Grayson Tisdale; and two siblings, Peggy Knight and Carroll Langford.

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Tisdale, Charlie Tisdale, Tyler Wares, Hunter Steed, Sonny Parker, Todd Johnson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 3, from 6 - 8 PM.
