Betty Pritchett Tomberlin

June 12, 1934 — November 24, 2020

Luverne

Mrs. Betty Jo Pritchett Tomberlin, 86, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. A graveside service for Mrs. Tomberlin will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 28th, in Darien Cemetery with Dr. Sam Tate officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Tomberlin spent many years sewing heirloom dresses with Rose Wise that were in demand nationwide. She was also a longtime, faithful member of South Luverne Baptist Church, and was an active member of the WMU there. She was a devoted Christian, and represented her faith well through her service to both her church and her community. She was incredibly generous, and strove her best to emulate the love of Christ to all those she encountered. She also loved to visit her son in Nashville, of whom she was so proud. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family more than anything else. They will miss her more than words could possibly express, but they will find comfort in all of the memories they have made over a lifetime and knowing that she is now walking with her Lord in Heaven.

Mrs. Tomberlin was preceded in death by her parents, Jim & Emma Grace Holland Pritchett, and two sisters, Ruth Davis and Jimmie Holladay. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Hubert Tomberlin; their son, Bobby Tomberlin; grandson, Austin; four siblings, Jerry Pritchett, Robert Pritchett, Leo Pritchett, and Patsy (Oren) Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, including her best friend, Mary Morgan.

Active pallbearers will be Alan Carpenter, Steve Sanders, Wayne Williams, Darrell Jackson, Allen Phillips, and Allen Holland.
