Billy Joe Hall

Billy Joe Hall, 75, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away at Baptist Medical Center South on Friday, October 4th, 2024. A graveside service for Billy Joe will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 7th, in Providence Cemetery with Brother Clay Crum officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.

Billy Joe spent most of his professional career working in Montgomery before retiring from Rheem Manufacturing after over 20 years there. He was definitely a tinkerer in his free time. He was forever finding something to work on around the house and/or farm. Didn't matter what it was, just as long as he could figure out how to make it work better or fix it! In fact, he was so good with his hands that he actually made his & his wife's wedding rings himself from silver dollars. He especially loved antique vehicles. He just really enjoyed keeping himself busy and pretty much doing whatever he could where people weren't constantly bothering him or expecting him to keep up a running conversation with them. If he was stuck inside with the TV, you were probably going to find him watching either wrestling or a favorite old Western.

To say Billy Joe was a man of few words would be a slight understatement. He had no desire for the gift for gab his wife was blessed with as he'd rather just people watch or listen to all the conversations going on around him than actually participate in them. Of course, that didn't mean he wasn't paying attention to what was said, whether at home or the barbershop, he always had that ear open to find out what was going on. And you never knew when he was going to pop out with that sly humor of his that made him so endearing to the people who loved him the most. Billy Joe was nothing if not loved, that's for sure. He was perfectly matched with beloved wife Faye and never once minded how badly he was outnumbered with his house full of girls growing up. Those girls certainly adored their dad and their children and grandchildren thought the world of their "Bubba." For such a quiet and reserved man, Billy Joe had a remarkably huge presence within his family. He taught them the importance of family and cherishing every moment spent together and those are lessons that pay off in spades within the lives of the beloved generations he has left behind.

Billy Joe was preceded in death by his wife of almost 53 years, Faye Bozeman Hall; parents, Marvin & Esther Robbins Hall; and parents-in-law, James Carroll & Ruby Bozeman. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Stephanie Hall (Brent Mitchell), Suzanne (Jody) Shirley, and Shelly (Billy Wayne) Nelson; grandchildren, Blake (Hannah) Holley, Kaleigh Holley (Baker Bozeman), Shelby (Cage) Freeman, Cole (Kerry) Moseley, Slade Renfroe, Zack Nelson, Braden Shirley, and Tori Kate Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Kiley Jordan, Kaley Jordan, Kortlyn Blake Holley, Kessy-Brooke Holley, Bric Holley, Hudson Moseley, and Tate Freeman will soon make his arrival; siblings, James (Cindy) Hall, Jackie Hall, Johnny Hall, and Janice (Bobby) Colvin; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Blake Holley, Baker Bozeman, Cage Freeman, Slade Renfroe, Braden Shirley, Cole Moseley, and Zack Nelson.
