Billy Joe Wood

WOOD, Mr. Billy Joe, 83, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017. Funeral services for Mr. Wood will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 30, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Jones and Rev. Wilburn Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Ann Till, parents, W. R. and Vivian Gibson Wood, and two brothers, Bob Wood and Jack Wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Annette Lester Wood, two sons, Joe (Sandra) Wood and Farrion (Emma) Wood, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and his brother, John (Connie) Wood. Active pallbearers will be Wilburn Kirkland, William Wood, Kevin Russell, Donnie Wood, Jeff Faulkner, and Conner Wood. Jimmy Mitchell and Elbert McCarthy will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 29, from 6 – 8pm.
