Mr. Brooks was a hard-working, honest, and forthright man throughout his life, always enjoying spending time with all kinds of people. He had a kind and loving heart for those in need and was generous to all those who needed it. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with old cars and trucks to bring them back to life and following his favorite college football team, the Georgia Bulldogs. His favorite times were those spent with his wife, Reba. They especially loved tracing their family roots together, often packing picnic lunches to carry with them as they drove around to all of the local cemeteries. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed opening his home to visiting missionaries, as well as making special trips to the temple in Birmingham. He was the kind of man who took great pride in looking his best for church as he always wanted to give God his best. He was also a strong proponent of daily Bible reading, and enjoyed comparing various translations over the years. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was loved beyond measure and will be sorely missed by all those he leaves behind.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his son, Billy Brooks; grandson, Aven Schofield; parents, Daniel Herschel & Tessa Annabell Boswell Brooks; and siblings, Edward J. Brooks, Dorothy Rae Price, Daniel "Joe" H. Brooks, Harold Brooks, Connie Ruth Mitchell, and Betty Sue Bundy, as well as an infant brother.
