Brenda Kelley Hart

October 24, 1965 — July 20, 2024

Prattville

Brenda Kelley Hart, 58, a resident of Prattville, Alabama and formerly of Highland Home, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Funeral services for Brenda will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 24th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Collis Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.

Brenda was an outgoing soul with a big and generous heart. Life might have handed her a few lemons, but she always knew how to make lemonade from them. Maybe that's what made her so easy for people to talk to, or maybe it was just because they knew how much she cared because she actually took the time to listen to them. While she often enjoyed quieter pursuits like reading, she knew how to have fun with the people she loved and her friends knew that she was always going to be loyal down to her core. Brenda also enjoyed music, especially while driving, either during her years on the road as a truck driver or just riding around the dirt roads of Crenshaw County. Above all, she was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who inspired many over the last year as she fought for life with every fiber of her being. She will be missed more than words could properly express, but she will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved her for many more years to come.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Emmett Kelley, and brother, Michael Kelley. She is survived by her children, Ashley McGowan and Brandon (Salli) Lamberth; grandchildren, Tatam McGowan, Sadie McGowan, Presley McGowan, Beckham McGowan, Declan Lamberth, Josslyn Lamberth, Rory Lamberth, and Everett Lamberth; mother, Mildred Kelley; brothers, Randall (Dalina) Kelley and Zachary (Breanna) Kelley; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other extended family members, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Chavers, Jimmy Harris, Jimmy Davis, Friday Rhodes, Todd Sexton, and Skipper Davis. Charles Davis will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe to be a beautiful place."
