Carl Sikes

SIKES, Mr. Carl, 88, a resident of Luverne died Thursday May 30, 2013. Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Saturday June 1, 2013 at the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Weeks officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Sikes is preceded in death by his parents, Ivey and Dora Williams Sikes and his brother, Hugh Bach Sikes. Mr. Sikes was a US Army veteran during World War II serving with the 101 Airborne Division. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Maxine Jones Sikes; three children, Carol (Bill) Stuart, Carl Sikes, Jr., and Nancy (Charles) Townsend; three grandchildren, William (Katie) Stuart, Drew (Alyson) Stuart and Hannah Townsend; and three great grandchildren, Emily, Alex and Claira Stuart. Active pallbearers will be William Stuart, Drew Stuart, Ken Williams, Billy King, Hugh Sikes and Mark Knox. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 pm until 2 pm.
