Mrs. Carolyn Allen Tomik, 77, a resident of Gadsden, Alabama and formerly of Brantley, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. A graveside service for Mrs. Tomik will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 16th, in Brantley Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Tomik spent several years as an elementary school teacher in the Enterprise School System before leaving to devote her time to raising her two beloved sons. She was also a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she loved all of them fiercely. She had a warm heart that she opened to all she knew. She could make anyone feel welcome in her home, and she could entertain them for hours with stories of her life and family. That same family considered her their very own angel on earth, and they lived every day in gratitude for her. She was truly a blessing to all who were lucky enough to have her in their lives, and she will live on in their memories.
Mrs. Tomik was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hill & Mae Johnson Allen. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bill Tomik; their two sons, Robert William (Leslie) Tomik and Johnathan Allen Tomik; two grandchildren, Gracie Mae Tomik and Parker William Tomik; sister, Eve (David) Allen; two sisters-in-law, Florance Azzardi & Mary Ann Shogun; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Phylis Magee & Wanda Douthit.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her friends and caregivers, Perse, Melissa, Liz, Jolonna, Holly, & Brittney at ProHealth and Hospice in Gadsden.
