Catherine was a beautiful and vibrant woman whose heart was every bit as big as her personality. She had a true heart for helping others but, for every bit as soft as her heart was, her spine contained just as much steel. Her inner strength guided her through many a tough time and fueled her drive to work hard throughout her life. She found her calling as a floral designer and enjoyed few things as much as she did creating jaw-droppingly gorgeous floral masterpieces. Catherine was also gifted with a wonderful sense of humor and loved finding various ways to make others laugh just to brighten their day. She especially had a giving & loving heart when it came to animals. It was truly rare to find her without one of her constant furbaby companions whether she was at home, work, or on the go! She found the love of her life later than many do, but she and her beloved Winston loved enough for an entire lifetime during their years together. They traveled everywhere they could, but their hearts always belonged to the quiet beauty of the mountains. Above all, Catherine will be remembered for how fiercely she loved her family, friends, church, community, and the healthcare workers who helped make her life easier in these last few years. If you were loved by Catherine, then you were undoubtedly fortunate to share in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Winston Hamilton Perdue; parents, Irby & Allie Bees Pittman; siblings, Windham Pittman, Yuvonne Pettus, and Sue Kelley; and beloved chihuahuas, William, Pepi, Speedy, and Killer. She is survived by her children, Joe (Glenda) Perdue and Marion (Billy Jack) Rayfield; grandchildren, Andrew L. (Kelley) Perdue II, Katrinya (Gabe) Gonzalez, and Stephen (Nancy) Rayfield; great-grandchildren, Logan, Andrew III, Sarah, Bella, Lillie, and McClay; siblings, Bob Pittman and Glenda Pittman; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
