KELLEY, Mr. John Cecil, 86, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. A graveside service for Mr. Kelley will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 8, in Live Oak Cemetery with Brother John Mills and Brother Charles Sipper officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Kelley was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a good, Christian man, whose big frame was dwarfed by the size of his heart. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maudie Mae Kelley; four brothers, Lavon (Elaine) Kelley, Arthur (Nina) Kelley, Leland (Mildred) Kelley, and Ruland Kelley; and four sisters, Mattie Mae Cattrett, Ethel Daughtry, Ruth (Jack) Henderson, and Rosalie (Wilson) Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dean Kelley; six children, Denise Carter, Allen Kelley, Peggy (Phillip) Garner, Paula Lambert, Jeffrey Kelley, and Karen (Bobby) Pettus; ten grandchildren, Patrick (Kristina) Carter, Tyler (Allie) Griffin, Kerri Griffin, Victoria (Mason) Pettus, Elissa Lewis, Shannon Kelley, Cory Kelley, Nickolas Lewis, Mason Kelley, and Aaron Kelley; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carter, Samantha Carter, Hailey Carter, Maddy Coggins, Olivia Griffin, Anna Wesley Pettus, Kenley Mason Pettus, Jolene Kelley, Marky Carter, Kayden Carter, and Payton Carter; sister-in-law, Martha Kelley; and brother-in-law, Bill Daughtry. Active pallbearers will be Dale Carter, Tyler Griffin, Phillip Garner, Nickolas Lewis, Patrick Carter, Bobby Pettus, and Mason Pettus. Aaron Kelley, Mason Kelley, and Cory Kelley will be honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30am.
