Cecil Mae Rhodes

Mrs. Cecil Mae Rodgers Rhodes, 80, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Funeral services for Mrs. Rhodes will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 10th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Sasser officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Rhodes was a diligent and dedicated worker for most of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed working in retail for Dillard's Department Store in Mobile, Alabama until her retirement. She and her husband would then own and operate their own store, Donna's Grocery, in Henderson for 15 years. In what free time she had, she loved to watch her favorite Westerns whenever she could find them on TV. She was also a dedicated member of Fleetwood Baptist Church and felt blessed to worship her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with her church family there. Above all, Mrs. Rhodes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She always put her family first, and her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were the lights of her life. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Walter Mack Rhodes, and her parents, Kerney & Maxine Dumas Rodgers. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Renee & Michael Martin and Donna & Tracey Bennett; grandchildren, Sheena (Noel) Richardson, Mitchell Beverly, Brandon Rhodes, Harlee Bennett, and Dakota Bennett; great-granddaughter, Livia Richardson; sister, Patsy Mitchell; sister-in-law, Faye Rhodes (Ted) Sanders; and brothers-in-law, Paul (Joan) Rhodes and Marcus (Lois) Rhodes.

Active pallbearers will be Greg Sanders, Todd Rhodes, Gary Rhodes, Scott Rhodes, Wesley Rhodes, and Tracey Bennett.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 - 2 PM.
