Chad William Seekers

Mr. Chad William Seekers, 40, a resident of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Grandview Medical Center at a hard fight with COVID-19. A graveside service for Mr. Seekers at 2 PM on Saturday, February 13th, in Pleasant Home Cemetery with Pastor Blake Johnson officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Chad grew up in Selma, Alabama with his grandparents whom he adored. He said they gave him an old-fashioned way of looking at the world. His grandfather both worked and farmed to feed his family, and Chad admired that amazing example and tried to live up to it. He gave his utmost dedication to every job he did. He felt manhood really means both being strong and caring deeply about your family, and he deeply valued all his family connections from his parents and siblings to his extended family.

Chad was a big guy who could appear intimidating at times, but he was typically full of laughter. He often stopped for strangers on the road to change a tire and share his love for Jesus. His gift for communicating with almost anyone earned him many devoted friends, and it also made him a great fit for his work in sales. He dreamed of one day becoming a preacher where his wonderful speaking ability would serve the Lord.

In his free time, he enjoyed working with cars, both on engines and audio electronics. He had been a commercial driver, and felt at home on the open road. He also loved music, and had a huge collection of songs, including everything from hip hop to country. His favorite pastimes were Alabama football, video console games, and especially fishing. Chad could patiently wait all day for a bite and never get tired of it.

Above all, Chad adored his children. He loved to find small special gifts that would mean a lot to them. He truly enjoyed making them happy and spending time with them. He had two beautiful daughters who he was not only very proud of, but often said they were the best part of him. He raised his elder stepson from a toddler, and admired the smart, hardworking man he became. Chad strongly influenced his younger stepson and stepdaughter, bringing much fun into their life. Having all of the children together for family gatherings made his world complete.

Mr. Seekers is survived by his loving wife, Gina Lanier Seekers; five children, Cashe’ Renee Seekers, Evangeline Rose Seekers, James McCray, Riley Griffin, and Ginger Griffin; father, Floyd Seekers; mother, Mary Gunter LaMont; two siblings, Danielle (Caleb) Conner and Terrell Frank Gatlin; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jody Austin Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Chase Rogers, John Brian Hale, Derrick Washington, James McCray, Brian Browning, and Eric Parks.
