Mr. Channing Lamar Spivey, 34, a resident of Goshen, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
Mr. Spivey graduated from Brantley High School as the salutatorian of his senior class, while also playing football, basketball, and baseball. He later attended Troy University, before becoming an electrician, installing wiring in new construction. He mainly worked on new homes at the beach, and that was where he was happiest. In his free time, he enjoyed playing chess, pool, & poker, as well as listening to music. Above all, he was a dedicated writer, and his dream was to become a published author. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. They will remember his joy in everything he did, and that he lived his life to the fullest.
Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by his parents, Danny Gerald & Brenda Callaway Spivey; grandparents, Jimmy Don & Barbara Jan Callaway; uncle, Kenneth Don Callaway; and great-uncle, Bill (Jean) Callaway. He is survived by his brother, Westley Spivey; two aunts, Chanda Callaway and Donna Callaway; cousins, Kallie & Jerrett Callaway, Terri (Joe) Troncale, and Brad (Syd) Callaway; two great-uncles, Scotty Beck and A.L. (Marilyn) Beck; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family will hold a celebration of Mr. Spivey’s life at 10 AM on Saturday, June 27th, at Word of Faith Church in Brantley, Alabama.
