Mr. Charles Wesley Cook, 77, a resident of Honoraville, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Cook will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 27, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother John Massey officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Cook attended the University of Alabama, and later graduated from Troy State University. He proudly served his country with the National Guard for several years. His mother, Jewel Cook, was the creator of the recipes first used by Priester’s Pecans. He first began working with them as the manager of their warehouse, then later took over as manager of the kitchen there from his mother. Later in life, he worked as an inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration with Electrosystems in Ft. Deposit. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored doting on his granddaughters more than anything else. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Jewel Moseley Cook. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Smith Cook; their son, Wesley Cook; and granddaughters, Emma Cook and Ella Cook.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Perdue, Ricky McGough, Carl Moseley, John Olney, Randall Duffell, and James Merritt.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 - 11 AM.
