HARE, Mr. Charles Bonner, 89, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Funeral services for Mr. Hare will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 24, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Parker Bowen and Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Hare was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who taught his children the true meaning of family and to help anyone in need. He was an outstanding member of his community, and he made everyone who came into contact with him feel loved and welcome. Mr. Hare was the founder, owner, and operator of Capital City Sharpening and Sales in Montgomery, Alabama for many years. He was also an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors.
Mr. Hare was preceded in death by the love of his life, Nell Hare; their daughter, Gloria Lundy; granddaughter, Angie Hargett; his parents, Ben and Pauline Bonner Hare; and four brothers, Marvin Hare, William Hare, Edwin Hare, and Robert Earl Hare. He is survived by his children, Gail (Charles) Netherland, Bill (Terry) Hare, and Benny (Lili) Hare; son-in-law, Jerry Lundy; eight grandchildren, Jay (Raylene) Lundy, Amy (Glenn) Willis, Philip Lundy, Chuck Netherland, Dennis Netherland, Joseph (Emily) Hare, Katie (Jayson) Carey, and Danny (Amanda) Hare; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Kay Lowery; brother, T.J. (Shirley) Hare; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Jay Lundy, Philip Lundy, Chuck Netherland, Dennis Netherland, Joseph Hare, and Danny Hare. His great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Highland Home Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 68, Highland Home, Alabama 36041. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 - 11 AM.
