Charles Curtis Matthews

MATTHEWS, Mr. Charles Curtis, 77, a resident of Highland Home died Sunday May 26, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday May 29, 2013 at the Salem Church of Christ with Minister Dean Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Matthews is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Harry Horton; a brother, Jimmy Matthews; and a sister, Jeanette Armstrong. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Katherine “Kitty” Owens Matthews; his children, Christopher and Melanie Matthews; two grandchildren, Ava and Greyson Matthews; a sister, Anne (Morris) Holcomb; and six nieces and one nephew. Active pallbearers will be Shane Holcomb, Blu Gilliand, Josh Gilliand,Gary Owens, Kirk Edwards and Cline Tidwell. The family will receive friends at the church of Wednesday from 1 pm until service time.
