Charles Steven Summerlin (Steve), 71, of Luverne, AL passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2026. Steve was born on July 25, 1954, to Bonnie Turner Summerlin and Leslie D. Summerlin of Luverne, Alabama.
Steve is survived by his son, Mark Summerlin (Susan), and grandchildren, Libby Summerlin and Liam Summerlin. He is survived by his brother, Mike Summerlin (Keith McDonald) of Rehoboth, DE and preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Summerlin Ryan.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Randy Claybrook of Asheville, NC; Sharon Powell (Kevin) of Memphis, TN; Leslie Claybrook (Perry Robinson) of Vestavia, AL; Lance Claybrook (Sheri) of Rutledge, AL; as well as great-uncle to Brook and Kristen Powell, Turner and Cullen Claybrook, and Lillian Robinson.
Steve was a graduate of Crenshaw Christian Academy and lived in Fuller's Crossroad Community, affectionately known as Summerlin Hill. He loved working on his farm, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Steve's name to the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery Fund for the Summerlin family, c/o Dale Shephard, 7245 Montgomery Highway, Luverne, AL 36049.
Family and friends are welcome to participate in the celebration of life for Steve on the Summerlin Family Farm (6971 Montgomery Hwy., Luverne, AL 36049) on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
