Charlie Joe Byrd

BYRD, Mr. Charlie Joe, 85, a resident of Montgomery, AL and formerly of Luverne died Friday, September 29, 2017. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Butts officiating. Interment will follow in Darien Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Byrd is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nora Simmons Byrd, a sister, Carolyn Byrd Tomberlin, and two brothers, Paul Byrd and James Byrd, Sr. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Byrd Drinkard, Pamela Byrd Morton, and Glenda “ DeDe” Thomas, and a son, Mike ( Janet) Byrd; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Bo) Tidmore, James (Kara) Thomas, Josh (Hannah) Thomas, Raymond (Stephanie) Morton, Brandon Morton, Joseph (Meagan) Boutin, and Lindsey Wright; seventeen great grandchildren; a sister, Lalar (Wilburn) Tomberlin; and a brother, Max (Toni) Byrd. Active pallbearers will be Josh Thomas, James Thomas, Joseph Boutin, Raymond Morton, Brandon Morton, Bo Tidmore, Vernon Moody, and Clint Byrd. The family requests any memorial donations may be made to the Darien Cemetery Fund, % Anita West, 509 New Harmony Road, Luverne, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 pm until service time.
