HOLMES, Mrs. Claudia Belle Surles, 84, a resident of Luverne died Saturday December 15, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday December 18, 2012 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Holmes is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Ray Holmes; four sisters, Nell Franklin, Earnestine Skinner, Merle Holmes and Odessa Evans; and four brothers, Marvin Surles, Joe Frank Surles, Julius Surles and Ferman Surles. Survivors include three children, Janice Sutley, Jean (Ronnie) Odum and Donny Ray Holmes; one grandson, Joey (Christy) Powell; and two great grandchildren, Tristen Hope Powell and Aiden Michael Powell. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Sutley, Wayne Franklin, Matt Waters, Ryan Waters and Guy Simmons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:30pm until service time.
