MESSICK, Mr. Coy Allen, 22, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2018. Funeral services for Coy will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 2, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Sowell officiating. Interment will follow in Bullock Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Coy loved the Auburn Tigers and Philadelphia Eagles football teams, but his passion was for lifting weights and serving God. His favorite Bible verse was, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9.
Coy was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Miller and Eugene Messick. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Shelley Miller Messick; brother, William “Alex” Motes; grandparents, Joan Messick, Janice Johnson, and Larry Johnson; aunts, Robin (Mike) Ross and Terrie (Edward) Lowery; uncles, Jimmy Simmons and Johnny Simmons; cousins, Connor Lowery and Emma Grace Lowery; and his girlfriend, Santana Walker.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Grantham, Aaron Hall, Caleb Sowell, Brady Beck, Shade Blackwell, and Alex Palomino. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 1, from 6 - 8pm.
