Daniel Heartsill

Mr. Richard Daniel Heartsill, 58, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Heartsill will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 12, at Panola Baptist Church with Rev. Daryl Freeman and Rev. Gayle Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Panola Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Heartsill spent most of his life working as a mechanic, and he had a knack for repairing any machine he worked on. He was a kind and generous man who thoroughly enjoyed himself no matter who he was with. He loved Saturdays in the fall when he could cheer for his favorite team, the Auburn Tigers. Above all, he loved his family dearly, and he will be sorely missed.

Mr. Heartsill was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Heartsill; father, Richard “Gent” Heartsill; and sister, Margret Rose Heartsill. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Terry Butts; mother and stepfather, Mae and Andy Palmer; six siblings, James Heartsill, Katie Burgans, Teresa (Thomas) Reeves, Angela (Ronny) Miller, Andrew “Bobo” Palmer, and Jennifer (Jason) Hurley; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Michelle Godwin.

Active pallbearers will be Tom Reeves, Chad Heartsill, Ronny Miller, Jason Hurley, Josh Palmer, and Benny Carpenter.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 - 11 AM.
