Mr. Teddy Daniel “Animal” Hunter, 67, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Hunter will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 28, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Mason Halacker officiating. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Hunter’s father nicknamed him “Animal” as a small child when he was fearless in the face of an angry dog. He went on to become a welder and ran his own shop for most of his life. He loved people and was loved in return. He was fond of reminding everyone that he was “the handsomest man who ever walked the face of the Earth.” Mr. Hunter was also a loving father who adored his grandchildren. He also had a heart for God. His presence will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Faith Hunter, and his parents, William E. and Ronnie Evalee Wright Hunter. He is survived by four children, Misty Daniel Hunter, Daniel Lonewolf (Amber Tidwell) Hunter, Sarah Elizabeth Whitedove (Zachary Tedder) Hunter, and Samuel Whitehawk (Erika Shelby) Hunter; eight grandchildren, Susie Mae Hunter, Joshua Jackson Fulghaum, Abigail Rose Hunter, Bella Florence Hunter, Isabelle Magnolia Hunter, Riley Faith Tedder, William Daniel Hunter, and Nevaeh Hunter; two sisters, Cindy Hunter and Bootsie Hunter; and the mother of his children, Elizabeth Payne.
Active pallbearers will be Samuel Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Zach Tedder, Edward Connelly, Shawn Davis, Mitch Dempsey, Jessie Dempsey, and Beau Brightwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Little, David Sampley, and James Martin.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 - 2 PM.
