Luverne

Dara Lynn Pido, 48, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023.

Dara was a strong-willed and independent woman who never failed to speak her mind when the situation called for it. She earned a scholarship to Kansas University after high school to play softball for the Jayhawks. She was later recruited to attend the Nashville Auto Diesel College. It was there that she demonstrated a natural skill for working with diesel engines and graduated with honors. In her free time, she enjoyed building, repairing, and riding motorcycles, a passion picked up from her father. Dara also continued to enjoy watching fast pitch softball even though she could no longer play. She also loved listening to her favorite music and spending time with her beloved dogs. She was always up for a night out for her favorite Mexican food as well. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them whenever she could.

Dara was preceded in death by her father, Acquiles "Charles" Pido. She is survived by her husband, Charles Thorpe; mother, Patricia Armstrong; siblings, Brian Pido and Jana Crowthers; nieces, Julia Crowthers, Sophie Pido, and Ember Pido; and nephews, Joe Crowthers and Wyatt Pido.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later time.
