Darren Ross "Hoss" Bolling

August 19, 1969 — March 21, 2021

Luverne

Mr. Darren Ross “Hoss” Bolling, 51, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 21, 2021. A graveside service for Mr. Bolling will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 24th, in Live Oak Cemetery with Brother Morris May and Rev. Dunford Cole officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Hoss was a character of epic proportions. Everyone who knew him has great stories to tell of his adventures. He loved making people laugh, and many of those stories revolve around his hilarious shenanigans. He always had a fondness for dipping Copenhagen and horror movies, and was always down for a binge session of his favorite TV show, Supernatural, with his mom, who was his favorite person ever.

Hoss was an avid collector of knives, guns, and liquor. He truly thrived in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with both friends and family. He loved nothing more than taking his family on White Tail Deer hunts. His family, friends, and pets were absolutely his world, but his nephews held a special place in his heart because he loved them like his own. He faced more struggles and obstacles than most people in this life, but he handled them all with such a positive attitude that he was an inspiration to all who knew him. His family and friends will always cherish the wealth of memories they made together over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lamar Sr & Linda Money Bolling, and sister, Cynthia Bolling. He is survived by his two siblings, Lesa Renee (Joey) Johnson and Jesse Lamar (Cynthia Kay-Morris) Bolling Sr; four nephews, Joseph Errin (Mallie) Johnson, Nicholas Trey Johnson, Jesse Jacob Bolling, and Brandon Matthew Bolling; great-nephew, Emerson Ross Johnson; uncle, Marvin Bolling; best friends, Paten Powell, Billy Ray Lester, and James Sankey; and a multitude of other great friends and extended family.

Active pallbearers will be Paten Powell, Billy Ray Lester, Keith Edward Fowler, Andy Thomas, Paige Owens, and Shaun Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Rushing, Keith Fowler, Gary Shirley, Jody Shirley, and James Grayson.
