Mr. David Ferrell Jordan, 72, a resident of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly at Crenshaw Community Hospital on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022. Funeral services for David will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 30th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Danny Rolling officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
David had a big, wonderful personality that could fill up any room he entered. He was easygoing and garrulous, which meant he truly never met a stranger. Combine his personality and his love to travel, and it's easy to see why he loved his job as a pipeliner so much. His job took him all over the States, allowing him to see so much of this beautiful country. David was fortunate that he sincerely loved his job and loved working in general until his health forced him to retire a few years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on favorite drivers in the races and Alabama Football. He was always a big fan of Westerns, old or new, and they were a comfort to him after his retirement. In his personal life, he was well known for his heart of pure gold. He was generous to a fault with everyone he knew. There were few people he enjoyed spending time with more than his grandchildren, though he cherished all of his family very much. Ultimately, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed more than words can possibly express. His loved ones will find comfort in all of their cherished memories together and knowing he is at peace now.
David was preceded in death by his parents, George Alex & Evelyn Bolling Jordan, and siblings, George Edward Jordan, Jesse Ray Jordan, and Betty Jordan Childs. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Debra Watson Jordan; children, Tama (Steve) Hollar, Michael (Tammy) Jordan, Carey Rayburn, Brent Kennedy, and Ryan (Katie) Kennedy; grandchildren, Justin Jordan, Jansen Jordan, Aaron Fulton, Austin Hollar, Haven Cade, Alisa Rayburn, Austen Kennedy, and Laurie Kennedy; great-granddaughter, Emery Jordan; siblings, Carol Dillon and Gary (Patsy) Jordan; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Active pallbearers Jansen Jordan, Justin Jordan, Kyle Jordan, Nickie Jordan, Dusty Jordan, and Shane Dillon.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation and Crenshaw Community Hospital for their wonderful care of David throughout some of the most difficult days of his life.
