Mr. David "Bo" Reddoch King, 56, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, April 22nd, 2022. A graveside service for Mr. King will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 26th, in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Rev. Morris May officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
Bo was born and raised in Luverne where he also attended Luverne High School. He later attended Jefferson State Community College where he trained to install fiberoptic cable. That occupation allowed him to travel all over the country as he helped lay fiberoptics at electrical substations. He enjoyed working on motorcycles and working with his hands in general. Most recently, he had begun to restore an old boat to its former glory. Bo had a kind of free spirit nature to him and enjoyed both spending time with friends and simply by himself. He also had a fairly easygoing personality that allowed him to mesh with people from all walks of life. Above all, he was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will surely be missed by all those who cared so deeply for him.
Bo was preceded in death by his father, Judge William Reddoch King. He is survived by his children, Brooke King Townsend and David Reddoch King Jr; grandchild, Townes Little; his mother & stepfather, Barbara Freeman Harrison & John Harrison; stepmother, Jill King; siblings, Kelly (Chuck) Kelley, William (Dolly) King, Adrianne (Tommy) Cox, Alice (Pat) Battle, and Tricia (Brett) Stewart; nieces and nephews, Sarah Kelley, Charlie Kelley, Harrison King, Alex King, Emma King, Ty Cox, Tate Cox, Trace Cox, Will Battle, Mary Raines Battle, Annie Battle, Cassady Stewart, and Allie Stewart.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Snell, David Spivey, Charlie Kelley, Brian Reaves, John Sport, Merrill Sport, Danny Stephens, and Steve Summerlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Kelley, Ed Beasley, Charles Sport, and Wayne Carter.
