Mr. David Patrick Smith, 55, a resident of Elba, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 16, 2022, in Tallahassee, Florida. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 24th, at the First Baptist Church of Luverne.

He spent the past six years serving as the Alt DCM for District 11 of Alcoholics Anonymous (serving Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, and Pike Counties) where he was a true blessing to many.

David was preceded in death by his father, William S. (Sue) Smith; his grandparents, Joseph & Bess Smith and Harry & Opal Utt; aunt, Margaret Ann (Hubert) Holiday; and uncles, Joseph M. (Mickey) Smith, Jack Utt, and Jerry Utt. He is survived by his mother & stepfather, Linda & Benny Williams; beloved sister, Laura K. Smith Jones; stepbrothers, Benny (Terrie) Williams Jr, Richard (Ricky) Williams, and Craig (Lisa) Williams; uncle, Laurence “Larry” (Debbie) Smith; aunts, Sue (Carl) Daniel, Phyllis (Don) Jackson; great-aunt, Ava McKinney; and numerous cousins and lifetime friends.
