Davis Wilton Moorer

MOORER, Mr. Davis Wilton, 81, a resident of Ft. Deposit, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Ft. Deposit Church of Christ with Minister Kenneth Randolph and Minister Aaron Pettus officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtlewood Cemetery in Ft. Deposit with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Moorer was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Crystal Moorer, grandson, Garret Solomon, parents, Henry Wilton and Ellen Moorer, and four brothers, John Calvin Moorer, Bob Moorer, Roy Moorer, and Bruce Moorer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Stringer Moorer, two daughters, Ruth Ellen (Bart) Solomon and Amanda (Russ) Davidson, son, Andrew (Jennifer) Moorer, six grandchildren, Rebecca and Richard Solomon, Ethan and Abby Davidson, and Stella and Lily Moorer, three sisters, Betty Jean Williamson, Louise Robinson, Nellie Grace Hill, and two brothers, Dawson Moorer and Rex Moorer. Active pallbearers will be Richard Solomon, Ethan Davidson, Ricky Moorer, Robbie Moorer, Mike Moorer, David Moorer, Jeff Moorer, Dale Moorer, Brad Hill, and Greg Moorer. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Foster and Ronnie Paulk. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Ft. Deposit Church of Christ, P.O. Box 128, Ft. Deposit, AL 36032 or Mobile Christian School, 5900 Cottage Hill Road, Mobile, AL 36609. They will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 25, from 6-8pm.
