MELA, Mrs. Debbie McLeod, 54, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Funeral services for Mrs. Mela will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 18, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Crum officiating. Interment will follow in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Mela was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and wife. She was also a beloved, longtime member of the staff at Luverne Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Mela was preceded in death by her parents, G.L. and Emma Sexton McLeod. She is survived by her husband, Sam Mela; sister, Martha (Mitchell) Bowlan; two brothers, Glen Daniel (Hope) McLeod and Ricky McLeod; four nieces, Linsley Bowlan (Jordan) Dale, Arin (Cody) Catrette, Brandy McLeod (Bo) Mount, and Cody (Jay) Carnley; two nephews, Brett Bowlan and Alex McLeod; great-niece, Ari Catrette; and two great-nephews, Jax Bayman and Robert Mount. Active pallbearers will be Brett Bowlan, Mitchell, Bowlan, Jordan Dale, Andre Dawson, Gary Gandy, Jay Carnley, Bo Mount, and Tony Channell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 - 2pm.
