Deborah Ann Mosley, 70, a resident of Greenville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Crowne Healthcare of Greenville on Monday, May 19th, 2025. A graveside service for Deborah will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 22nd, in Antioch East Cemetery with Pastor Blair McBride officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 to 1 PM.
Deborah was born and raised in Texas where she met the love of her life, Douglas Mosley, while he was in town visiting family. Together they raised their family and treasured every moment they were able to spend together, especially their trips to favorite places like the Smoky Mountains. At home, she took immense pride in the beautiful flowers she lovingly tended to in her yard over the years, likely while listening to her favorite Casting Crowns music. Throughout her life, she had several special dogs in her life and she truly loved every single one of them. Deborah was that rare person who loved spending time with so many different kinds of people. She had a knack for putting them at ease and finding wonderful conversations with new friends. In another life, she would have loved to have been a nurse, and she would have been a phenomenal one with her love of people and nurturing personality. She brightened the lives of all those who knew and loved her, and that brightness will be sorely missed.
Deborah was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Mosley; parents, Henry Wilburn & Thelma Lea Sharp Hopgood; brothers, Jimmy Hopgood and Billy Joe Hopgood; sister-in-law, Linda Morrison; and brother-in-law, Rickie Mosley. She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Curtis) Stuart; special sister-in-law, Rosemary (Mark) Smith; other siblings-in-law, Johnny (Patricia) Mosley, Jerry (Dora) Mosley, Ann (James) Reeves, Robert (Lynell) Mosley, Larry (Rene) Mosley, Randy Morrison, Jennifer Mosley, Joe (Renae) Mosley; children, Brian Mosley, T.J. Mosley, and Shawna Hoerter; several grandchildren & one great-grandchild; and her cherished canine companion & ever-present shadow, Scooter.
