Donna Armendia Southard

Mrs. Donna Armendia Southard, 63, a resident of Dozier, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021. Funeral services for Mrs. Southard will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 22nd, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Barry Gulley officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Southard devoted her life to taking care of her family. She raised her children in a loving home and then continued that tradition in helping to take care of her grandchildren. One of her favorite activities was taking her grandchildren for fun outings at skating rinks and other places. She could always find an excuse to spend times outdoors, either gardening, fishing, or camping, as she thrived in that environment. She also enjoyed following politics around the country. Above all, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family more than anything else in the world. She taught them how to keep a positive attitude about life, no matter what happened. All those who knew and loved her remember well how she always had a smile on her face, and they will treasure all of the memories they made together over a lifetime.

Mrs. Southard was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Karl Southard; parents, Otha Edgar & Janice Knight Durham; and a sister. She is survived by her children, Michael (Alecia) Jones, Terry (Charlotte) Southard, Kelly Nicole (Chad) Powell, and Brittany Southard; grandchildren, Jayden Jones, Trevor Jones, Rayne Jones, Alexis Southard, Emily Southard, Eva Southard, Lucas Southard, Tucker Powell, Kaydence Southard, and Ayden Davis; four siblings; and a special friend, Jeffrey Gulley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 - 11 AM.
