Donnie Boyd

Mr. Jerry Donald “Donnie” Boyd, 75, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 9, 2020.

Mr. Boyd exemplified the nature of hard work as he spent over 30 years managing B & H Livestock in Montgomery, Alabama. In his free time, he loved taking care of his own animals. He was also a dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ft. Deposit, Alabama. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will live on in the memories of all those he leaves behind.

Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber Lee and Mildred McCall Boyd, and five siblings, Joyce Watson, Leta Jones, John W. Boyd, Morris H. Boyd, and David E. Boyd. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sherry Wilson Boyd; their two children, Don (Tonya) Boyd and Michele (Brent) Boswell; three grandchildren, Amanda Boyd Dufner, Clay (Tori) Boyd, and Paige Boswell; great-granddaughter, Ann Renee Boyd; three brothers, Roy J. Boyd, Jimmy Boyd, and Ronnie Boyd; and numerous nieces, nephews, others extended family members, & friends.

Donnie’s family deeply regrets that they are unable to properly celebrate his life, surrounded by those who knew and loved him, at this time of social distancing, but a celebration of his life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.
