Donnie "Hootie" Gaines

GAINES, Mr. Donnie H. “ Hootie”, 83, a resident of Brantley died Thursday February 16, 2012. Graveside services will be 3 pm Sunday February 19, 2012 at Brantley Cemetery with Rev. Tommy McCormick officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Gaines is preceded in death by his son, Donnie Michael Gaines. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jeanette Poole Gaines; two daughters, Rhonda (Allen) Johnson and Mona (Chris) West; three grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Hunter (Amanda) Johnson and Amanda (Jason) Hilburn; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruthie Mount, Margie Prescott, and Sarah (George) Sewell; and four brothers, Q.P. Gaines, Walter (Rose) Gaines, Bobby (Joanne) Gaines and Nick (Betty) Gaines. Active pallbearers will be Lanny Nichols, Gary Mount, Ken Gaines, Jeff Barron, Ricky Bryan and James Barron. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at the service hour on Sunday.
