BOWEN, Mrs. Doris Ashcraft, 86, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 9, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in Panola Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband, George Fletcher Bowen, her parents, Walter B. and Emma Jane Keeffe Ashcraft, a sister, Mary Owens, and a brother, Larry Ashcraft. She is survived by her four children, Cindy (Steve) Pursley, Jerry (Peytie) Bowen, Parker (Tanja) Bowen, and Mike (Jennifer) Bowen, special nieces and nephews, Artie Bowen, Mary Nan (Joe) Leverette, Brenda Bowen, and Shelby Welch, five grandchildren, Jonathan (Nicole) Bowen, Jason (Heather) Bowen, Jennifer Bowen, Sarah Pursley, and Ben Bowen, six great grandchildren, Jacob Bowen, Jackson Bowen, Hadleigh Bowen, Ethan Bowen, Adalyn Bowen, and Aiden Bowen, four sisters, Janice (John) Crane, Jane (Tommy) Pursley, Frankie (Luther) Hewitt, and Ann Bingle, and a brother, Edward Ashcraft. Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Bowen, Jason Bowen, Tommy Bowen, David Bowen, Terry Bowen, and Ricky Taylor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 pm until service time.
