Dorsey Reynolds Jeffcoat

JEFFCOAT, Mr. Dorsey Reynolds, 94, a resident of Rutledge, AL, died Monday, April 27, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tim Gafford officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Jeffcoat was an army veteran and served honorably in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Cosby Jeffcoat; his parents, Dossie and Una Mae Walker Jeffcoat; and two brothers, Gene Jeffcoat and James Lamar Jeffcoat. Mr. Jeffcoat is survived by eight children, David Jeffcoat, Jimmy (Elizabeth) Jeffcoat, Glenda (George) Bryan, Gloria (Lamar) Defee, Becky (Buddy) Broadway, Billy Jeffcoat, Mike (Melinda) Jeffcoat, and Ricky (Donna) Jeffcoat; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eloise Richardson and Marzelle Simpler; and his brother, Charles Raymond Jeffcoat. Active pallbearers will be Stanley Defee, Jonathan Defee, Trent Broadway, Keith Jeffcoat, Chad Bryan, and Adam Jeffcoat. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
