Dottie Boldin Bowen

BOWEN, Mrs. Dottie Boldin, 77, a resident of Luverne died suddenly Thursday January 19, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday January 23, 2012 at the Luverne First Baptist Church with Rev. Harry Driggers, Rev. Joe Leverette and Rev. Donnie Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Bowen is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Mary Jane Boldin; her sister, Marcie Brown; and three brothers, Joe, Ray and Fred Boldin. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Irby Bowen; two children, Allen (Brenda) Bowen and Peggy (Kenny) Horn; five grandchildren, Kristie Bowen, Shea (Mark) Simmons, Brad (Mandy) Horn, Andy (Julie) Bowen and Matthew Bowen; six great grandchildren, Tanner and Carson Simmons, Sarah and Anna Bowen, Ava Grace Bowen and Brooke Horn; and three sisters, Jane Adams, Carolyn Chandler and Maggie Grant. Active pallbearers will be Allen Bowen, Andy Bowen, Matthew Bowen, Kenny Horn, Brad Horn and Mark Simmons. Terry Bowen, Terry Adams, William Leverette and Marion Bowen will serve as honorary pallbearers. The body will lie-in-state at the church for 30 minutes prior to service time. The family will receive friends Sunday at the Luverne First Baptist Church from 5pm until 8pm.
