Douglas Demand Mitchell

MITCHELL, Douglas D., 84,a resident of Brantley, died Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 am from the Brantley Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Abbott, Rev. Mitch Mares and Rev. Travis Johnson officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Brantley Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Willie Pearl Mitchell; two children, Lydia Mitchell (Jim) McNeal and Elton D. (Mary) Mitchell; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Lonnie) Worthington, Monica (John) Kopin, Brent D. (Hanna) Mitchell and Andrew McNeal; six great grandchildren; and his sister Frances Mae Cornett. Active pallbearers will be Stanton Cornett, Buddy Cornett, Jessie Murph, Kenny Mitchell, Edwin Mitchell and Pete Newton . James Mitchell and the Deacons of Brantley Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10 am until service time.
