Douglas Windham Senn

April 26, 1951 — September 6, 2021

Luverne

Mr. Douglas Windham Senn, 70, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Andalusia Health. Funeral services for Mr. Senn will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 8th, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Brother Danny Rolling and Brother John Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Senn was a shining example of what someone can accomplish through dedication and hard work as he went from being a truck driver to owning and operating his own trucking company. He also worked as a dispatcher for Godwin Materials for 40 years. In what little free time he managed to have, Mr. Senn enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. In his younger days he also enjoyed umpiring for softball games. He was a dedicated Christian, who believed in the teachings of Jesus to love everyone equally and never failed to be generous with all those who needed help. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family tremendously. He was always a constant presence at any activity his grandchildren were involved in so they knew they could always count on his loving support. He also loved spending time with his church family as a longtime, faithful member of Rock Hill Church of Christ. He will be missed immeasurably by all those who knew and loved him, but they can find comfort in knowing that he is now in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Senn was preceded in death by his parents, Theron Douglas & Annie Laura Bryan Senn, and sister, Mary Ann McLendon. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marsha Hall Senn; their children, Stacie Senn and Jason (Christy) Senn; grandchildren, Jae Mills, Thomas Mills, Ethan Senn, McKenzie Senn, and Holden Senn; great-grandchildren, Henry & Maggie Mills; siblings, Judy (Larry) Mitchell, Charles (Kathy) Senn, Curtis (Elaine) Senn, Ellen (John) Cavender, Johnny (Melanie) Senn, and Trish (Scott) Beck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Jae Mills, Thomas Mills, Ethan Senn, Charles Senn, Johnny Senn, and Charles Hall.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 - 11 AM.
