Easter Davis Tidwell

Mrs. Easter Davis Tidwell, 77, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away in her home on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022. A graveside service for Mrs. Tidwell will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, May 19th, in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Rutledge, Alabama with Brother Stae Sanders officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends in Chapel Hill Church from 2 PM until service time.

Mrs. Tidwell dedicated so much of her life to raising her family in a loving home. Her husband and children were always her top priority. After her children were older, Mrs. Tidwell decided to take a secretarial course in order to run her husband's booming pallet company where she proved to have sharp business instincts. After his death, she managed to thrive even though she was regretfully a widow far too soon. To that end, Mrs. Tidwell later owned and operated her own country general store close to her home for several years. In what little free time she had between work and raising her family, she enjoyed challenging her mind with solving crossword puzzles. She was also an avid reader for much of her life until her eyesight began to weaken. Above all, she was devoted mother and a doting grandmother to her precious family. She understood that her riches on earth were her beloved family, not material things, and she cherished them accordingly. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Tidwell was preceded in death her husband, Jimmy Shelton Tidwell; mother, Opal Inez Sexton Beck; and siblings, Hazel Beck, Evelyn Reynolds, and Jimmy Davis. She is survived by her children, David Tidwell, Terry Tidwell, and Denise Tidwell (Tim Stewart); grandchildren, Wyatt Parten, Gage Parten, and Breanna Stewart; her sister, Sue Mims; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other extended family members.
